AMENITIES
Supermarket
At the entrance of the Vale Do Lobo resort is a grocery store with an integrated bakery which serves the famous Pastel de Nata (however, the very best Nata is in Almancil at the main roundabout at “Café Latte” – cautious: be there before 11am to still get some).
The supermarket (Pingo Doce) has everything you would need to prepare simple meals. It has a good selection of fruits, vegetables, fish and meat. It also includes a prepared food counter (e.g. roasted chicken), selection of local and imported beers & vines as well as fresh milk and sanitary products. It is approx. 1.4km (20 min) from Aquamarine – please feel free to take the shopping trolley for your convenience if you decide to take a stroll to the store. Alternatively, there is a resort bus that passes by.
Opening hours are every day from 8:30 to 20:00 (may vary on public holidays)
More supermarkets of various price ranges (discounter such as Lidl to imported food specialist Apolonia) are located in Almancil (7km = 15min drive).
Medical Center
Equally at the entrance of the Vale Do Lobo resort and in the same building as the grocery store, a medical center is established to treat emergencies.
Vale Do Lobo (VDL) Reception and Clubhouse
The VDL Reception (open 24h) is located in the middle of the resort. The same complex hosts additionally the VDL Golf Reception & Clubhouse, Golf Pro Shop, Spa, Gym, VDL Real Estate office, Liqueur store, Bike and Car Hire (www.vdlcarhire.com & www.vdlbikehire.com) and some smaller retail stores.
As a guest you can obtain information at the reception on various activities within the resort and they will be helpful to provide other information about the Algarve.
Please feel free to obtain more information by visiting www.valedolobo.com
Golf & Tennis in Vale Do Lobo
VDL is known for its two Championship Golf Courses (Ocean and Royal) & Tennis Academy, which has one of the largest tennis court facilities in Portugal. The total 14 courts (six floodlit) and its Pro Shop is located in the Tennis Valley.
Pools and Praça
The VDL resort has two pools at the Praça and one at the Tennis Academy. The pools at the Praça have an entrance fee (please see latest prices at the entrance of the pools) and include sunbeds. A small bar provides refreshments for big and small guests.
The Praça (Portuguese for “Square” or “Plaza”), is the center point of VDL resort and hosts multiple amenities such as multiple restaurants (see our restaurant guide below), Bar & Nightclub (Gecko), Beach Bar, Creperie with a selection of Ice Cream and a resort Fashion and Lifestyle Store.
Around the Praça and the beach, there are additional parking spaces, however, please note that during summer months, parking is chargeable.
Beach
VDL has one of the nicest beaches of the entire Algarve. It is 150m walking distance from Aquamarine, has sun-beds and umbrellas and provides water sport for the more active vacationers as well as massages on the beach for the balance finding moments (all for a fee). The red backdrops provide a beautiful view for a long stroll along the water (you can walk to Quarteira / Vilamoura or to Faro [airport] along the beach (don’t forget the sun scream).

In the nearer surroundings
VDL is close to Vilamoura and Albufeira. In both cities (and between), you will find decent restaurants at different price categories. For us, we love to stroll around the harbor in Vilamoura at night and just pick one of the many restaurants there or have a drink or ice cream while watching the yachts and vacationers.
